The Ox and Plow Song is an important troupe performed during koah-hiun festival in Xigang. Carrying centuries of history, the Ox and Plow Song retains traditional form in all aspects and has been registered as an intangible cultural asset in Tainan. In addition to the essential “ox head”, young boys play the roles of Chou and Dan at the front stage. Coupled with singing and instrumentplaying at the back stage, this troupe presents 3-in-1 combination of singing, playing and acting. Its theme incorporates diverse elements like traditional ox plow and drum, depicting an idyllic farming life. In collaboration with Jhuciao Elementary School in the community, the Ox and Plow Song is performed and

promoted on campus to lay down roots of arts and culture.
