Hwei-Lan Dancing Group

Introduction :

Because most members of the group are indigenous people of Amis tribe in Hualien, the group is named after “Hwei-Lan”, the old name of Hualien County. Hewi-lan Dancing Group aims at preserving and using traditional songs and dances to express the traditional cultures of indigenous people. They have been presenting new pieces

 

of dance every year, and teach dances in universities and communities, with the purpose of making the public understand the spirits of indigenous culture. They were also invited to perform in many foreign countries and promoted the indigenous cultures of Taiwan.
