Folk Dance Group BANĪTIS

The dawn of the folk dance group "Banitis" originates at the end of the summer 2009, when a small group of dancers (mainly working in railway industry) joined for a single performance. In fact this was a beginning of new folk dance group "Banitis" (puffer).
Since then they have reasonably grown up now comprising more than 30 dance enthusiasts. The age range wavers from 27 to 58 years averaging 36 years. Although "Banitis" is a really new dance group, it unifies experienced grown-up dancers coming from well-known and sound amateur dance groups all around Latvia.

Their members through decades have performed in more than 60 countries, including US, most of Europe, Australia and Asia (Korea, Thailand). As a new dance group they have visited only Croatia yet, but they enjoy meeting dancers from other countries worldwide. Apart from that they have regular performances all around Latvia, meeting other dance groups, participating in local festivals and concerts. The dancing is a significant part of their lifestyle, so they enjoy dancing and want to share their joyfulness with their spectators and other dancers.
