The State Chuvash Academic Song and Dance Ensemble

The State Chuvash Academic Song and Dance Ensemble was founded in 1924 on the base of a national choir by first Chuvash professional composers and choir directors Fedor Pavlov and Vasily Vorobyev. Since the very first days of its activities the ensemble has been a passionate promoter of national music art. Thousands of invisible threads connect the ensemble with its people and folk art. The group's repertoire is a real artistic encyclopedia of Chuvash people. It includes songs, scenes of folk games, popular celebrations, vocal and choreographic suites, orchestral pieces, pieces by Chuvash composers, songs and dances of Russian peoples.




The ensemble has been doing concerts for more than 85 years. The public of many parts of Russia and more than 10 European, Asian, and African countries had the opportunity to enjoy the group's unique art. The ensemble was awarded Chuvash Republic Certificate of Merit for its large contribution into preservation, development, and promotion of national choreographic art.
