We have no idea about the origin of “TasukeHaiyaBushi”; it’s just known from the documents that it started from the late-Edoperiod. It combines Taiko,Shamisen and singing, adding the dances. During the performance, the music getshigher and higher, faster and faster. In 2008, Nagasaki Prefecture has registered it as an “Intangible Cultural Heritage.” Besides, the housewives of Tasuke town, Hirado city, founded the “Preservation Society of TasukeHaiyaBushi”in order to retainand promote thearts.
