Country : New Zealand
FB / Website :
Introduction :

The Group has been performing for many years with the purpose to retain the traditional songs and dancesof Māori. The group members are from different generations, highlighting the importance of intergenerational transmission. The songs are sung in the ancient language of Māori., while the traditional taongapūoro (ancient Māori musical instruments), coupled with modern instruments, gives a transitional ancient and contemporary sound of Māori. The dance combines the athleticism, Māori weaponry, the art of the poi (balls tied to a string) and the traditional Māori clothing, showing the diversity of New Zealand culture.
