The nine days long 2018 NYIFF is going to the end this Sunday (Oct 14). The closing ceremony will start at 16:30. Because of the parade topic this year, the organizer invites the singer Hsiao Hung Jen to adapt the ox and plow song and perform in the closing ceremony. It aims to share the traditional folk art array culture to the friends from all over the world. There will be nine international groups perform in the closing ceremony in the Nanying Green Heart Park. Welcome to participate the beautiful end together.
To thanks to the 78 host families and schools that they receive the international groups friendly, the mayor will award the certification of the appreciation to the host families, schools and the local perform groups of 2018 NYIFF in the closing ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, the mayor will present the flower and the activity recording to the 17 international groups. After the mayor led everyone to sing “Love with Nan-Ying”, he will farewell all the groups.
The organizer will arrange a farewell party after the closing ceremony, all of the groups, host families and schools are invited to enjoy the food of Tainan before they leave Taiwan. They will bring the wonderful memory back to their countries and share to their friends and family.
The director of cultural affairs bureau of Tainan city government indicates that the biennial NYIFF has been hold since 1996 and it is 11th this year. There are 34 word-class folklore art shows in Tainan city and 22 groups from 16countries attended this time. The audience do not need to go abroad, the festival brings the most plentiful art performances feast. It is very grateful that many people like the festival, some friends even download the schedule and participate every day. The 11th NYIFF are about one hundred thousand people participate the festival and even 80 groups from the schools, communities, families and enterprises receive every international groups.
There will be Ngaa Mauri Taniwha Ki Uta-Taniwha Ventures from New Zealand, Tanjore Dance Music & Art Research Centre from India, Folklore ensemble KARPATY from Slovakia, Tokushima Prefecture, Awa Odori Promotion Association Selection Team from Japan, Simyonov-Sremchica from Serbia, Gantari Gita Khatulistiwa (GGK) from Indonesia, Conjunto Folklorico ISYS from Panama, Han Fong Dance Ensemble from Malaysia, DRUZHBA from Russia performing in the closing ceremony. It also is the last performance this year. We welcome the friends to join us on Oct 16, 16:30 in the Nan Ying Green Heart Park.
